Are you self-sabotaging your brain? 4 questions to ponder

Self-Sabotage is not something I’d previously thought about in depth.

Firstly, for interest sake, it can be defined as ‘behaviour or thoughts, especially of an involuntary or unconscious nature, that are harmful to one’s own interests or development’

Key words for me - involuntary or unconscious.

Why?

In the past, I didn’t see self-sabotage as related to me, no of course not.

But let’s refer back to those words again - involuntary or unconscious…

There are obviously so many ways, big or small, that we self-sabotage and we don’t even know it!

What I’ve realised is this includes self-sabotaging our own brain.

Our sharpness, our intelligence, our capability.

The exciting thing is though, bringing in an awareness of how we self-sabotage is what can kick start a transformation.

So, I will simple leave you 4 questions to ponder for your own kick start!

  • How much do you believe in yourself/your intelligence and capability?

  • Do you feel worthy of being ‘successful’?

  • How much do you fear standing out from the crowd/being seen as a ‘tall poppy’

  • What do you fear more - failure, success or both?

Now here’s a get started challenge!

Ask a friend or family member one of the above questions.

What discussion, if any, does it leads to..?
