5 tips for those blank moments

You know those moments in a conversation when a word just doesn’t come to you?

Maybe you go into slight panic mode?

What if you could avoid the panic and still think clearly?

It’s something I’ve trained myself to do and you can too!

Here are my 5 TIPS on how to approach this with ease:

1. Keep breathing and allow yourself to take a moment

It might sound silly but this will prevent you from going into panic mode so you can continue to think clearly.

2. Calmly say to whoever you’re speaking with something like

‘the word/name I had in mind will come to me’

or, continue speaking about something else until it comes

The person you’re speaking with then understands why you might be taking a pause. It takes the attention off you needing to know the word then and there, so you can feel more comfortable.

3. Believe -

Keeping positive and believing the word will come to you means it’s more likely to!

4. Keep it lighthearted -

If you’re still getting blanks or wrong words, just move on. No need to feel embarrassed or bad about it, it’ll probably come to you later.

5. Celebrate -

There’s nothing better than the satisfactory feeling when you have the eureka moment! But even if this doesn’t happen, celebrate for giving it a shot and till next time!
